The outside of the tank is manufactured with galvanized steel that is lock seamed then sealed with an oil and also provides a fire-resistant seal. The outside tank is made to protect the inner tank which offers a secondary containment that protects spills. A heating oil tank installation cost is a little more with the Roth double-wall tank. However, Roth tank gives a 10-year parts and equipment warranty. Their ability to give that warrantee is because Roth tank installers need to be Roth Certified, which we are.

Granby’s warrantee for parts and equipment varies between 10-25 yrs. depending on the particular model you choose. Most local towns and cities require a permit from the fire departments to make sure that all the work is done properly to ensure that the new oil tank is installed to be environmentally safe. Most cities and town permit fees range from $50 to just over $100 with some not having any fees. We will acquire any permits that may be needed from your town or city.  After the installation is completed some town or city officials may come to inspect it to make sure the work has been done properly.

Homeowners Fuel Oil Tank Insurance

In 2010, the state of Massachusetts passed a law that mandates insurance companies to offer home heating oil tank leak protection. It is an optional coverage that you need to apply for to get coverage. Should you apply for this coverage, there are requirements that you need to meet?

• Your property needs to consist of 1-4 units
• Your home of property needs to be a dwelling used as a living and sleeping place only. It cannot be mixed with a commercial/residential type occupancy, like a business on the lower level and a living sleeping dwelling on the 2nd floor.
• The fuel oil tank needs to be aboveground

• The residential homes property owner needs to provide proof that the new home heating oil tank has leak prevention safety proto calls in place by way of safety valves and or that the new oil supply lines have protective sleeves.​
